Drug induced tremor (215/1700)

A 71 yo man presents with coarse tremor. He is on some meds. Which one can be the reason for
the tremor?
a. Lithium
b. Diazepam
c. Fluoxetine
d. Imipramine
e. Haloperidol


























Lithium is associated with a fine tremor, lithium toxicity is associated with a coarse tremor.
Imipramine can also cause a tremor, probably fine tremor.

Drug induced tremor:
Withdrawl: alcohol, benzodiazepam
Lithium
Anti arrythmics: Amiodarone, procainamide
Anti epileptic: carbamazepine, Valproate
Anti depressant: TCA
Cyclosporin
Neuroleptics
Stimulants: Albuterol, caffiene, theophylline, alcohol, cocaine, amphetamine etc
