Subacute Thyroiditis/ De Quervain's disease
- Controversial aetiology associated with viral infection, usually follows URTI.
- Thyroid becomes congested, swollen, has a firm irregular pattern and slightly tender.

- Remissions and exacerbation over a few months. Self limited course.
- ESR high
- Normal or low leucocyte count
